Pedro Madureira
Biomedical scientist specializing in immunology, microbial pathogenesis, and translational anti-infective therapies. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from ICBAS, and a Degree in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. His research career has focused on elucidating immune-evasion mechanisms shared by major neonatal and systemic bacterial pathogens, with particular emphasis on immunosuppressive virulence factors and the host’s dysregulated immune response. Pedro Madureira is Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Immunethep SA, where he leads the scientific strategy behind the development of novel immunotherapies targeting conserved bacterial mechanisms of immune suppression.
